TRON

Well despite the snow I managed to make it out to see Tron in 3D and I have to say that movie was the largest pile of shit I have seen in quite some time. Now I loved the effects, I even loved the music but you cannot throw together a bunch of half-finished and fuckin' predictable plot points and call it a goddamn story.

Oh and Flynn? Fuck you. Like hell you thought of Wi-Fi in 1989 ¬¬ way to turn him into a fucking Gary-Stu Disney ¬¬

Awww man I was hoping that it would be awesume, I loved the original....Jeff Bridges is awesume. I guess that's what we get for 3D, more emphasis on making it look good than having any real substance........kinda like fucking Avatar...Fern Gully meets Pocahontas with pretty blue Aliens and great CGI.

Yeah, I have to agree. I went to see it today. I never thought it would be good (I mean, Disney?) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It looked pretty cool, but as you said it was predictable.

@PK: YES! Finally somebody agrees with me on how shit Avatar is. Just because it's got James-fucking-Cameron's name on it everybody acts like it's the best thing since sliced bread! It was a re-hashed Pocahontas story with pretty CGI thrown in ¬¬

@Awesome_Phoebe: They totally left it open for a sequel too... typical Disney ¬¬

Good to know! I've been debating seeing it because it looked like it could go horribly wrong. I guess I will be giving it a miss then!

I usually can sit down and enjoy a crappy movie or two...shit some of my favorite flicks are Bring it On (that terrible cheerleader movie with Kirsten Dunst) and Mean Girls (with that Lohan whore) But when a movie is ACTUALLY trying to be taken seriously, like Avatar, and fails, the movie critic in me comes out.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my hatred of Avatar, it was long, a story told many many times before and had some friggin terrible dialogue.

Damn...another bad review of TRON. We've been looking so forward to it since the very first sneak peeks. And I've heard WAAAYYY too many negative things about Avatar to bother seeing it anytime soon.

*sigh* That's a bummer :(

*and I ADORE your new layout -- I'd sound like a stalkerish-fangirl if I told you how much ^_^

@CelSera: I know right? I fell in love with this one as soon as I found it. I got a little bored with the limited options in blogger so I went layout hunting. I was originally going for something cyberpunky but then I saw this little gem.

Tron really sucked. What sucks more is that you can't seem to get the DVD of the original. No doubt Disney's cunning plan is to package both the crappy sequel and the awesome original together for about £30 ¬¬

It's like they knew in advance nobody would like the new one.

Oh no they are NOT going to package them together -- srsly??? Gah!!! And I can totally see them doing that shiz too. Forget THAT! I haven't seen the original since I was a kid...may be worth a rental.

Same but it's Disney and conveniently I can't find the original (not in the UK at any rate) so I'll bet that's what they do.
